Terms

The same rules we tell you at the dock.

Last updated: 13 June 2026

These are the plain terms for hiring a boat from us. They match what we tell every guest at the dock — nothing buried, nothing surprising. By booking a boat you are agreeing to them. If anything here is unclear, message the captain before you book and we will talk it through.

1. Who you are booking with

Your boat is hired from Ksamili Boat Hire, a family-run operator in Ksamil, Albania, running since 2018. Every boat is picked up and returned at Sea Breeze Seaside Bar & Restaurant, Rruga Riviera, Ksamil 9700.

Booking is arranged over WhatsApp or in person — +355 69 955 9988. There is no contract until we have agreed a date and boat with you and confirmed it back.

2. Licence and who may drive

Every boat in our fleet sits under the Albanian threshold that lets you drive without a boating licence. You do not need any certificate to take the helm.

Before you set off self-drive, you get a short briefing at the dock — roughly fifteen minutes on how the boat handles, where to go and where not to, and what to do if anything comes up. The person driving must be a capable adult, sober, and willing to follow that briefing. If you would rather not drive, a captain can come with the boat on request — just ask when you book.

3. What's included

A normal day's hire includes:

Fuel is not included. It is charged separately — measured at the dock and paid on what you actually use for the day.

  • A life jacket for everyone on board.
  • Sunshade, cushioned seating, and a Bluetooth speaker.
  • The dock briefing, and a captain on request if you'd prefer not to drive.

4. How many can come

Each boat has a maximum number of guests it is set up to carry, from the smaller boats up to the flagship. We will tell you the limit for the boat you book, and that limit is firm — it is a safety number, not a suggestion. Please don't arrive with more people than the boat is rated for; we won't be able to take everyone, and no one wants that conversation at the dock.

5. Booking, payment and deposits

To hold a date, message the captain on WhatsApp with your day and group size. For quiet days in the shoulder season we usually take no deposit — your message holds the slot. In the busy weeks we may ask for a small deposit to confirm; we'll always say so up front.

Payment is in cash or by card at the dock, or by bank transfer in advance if that suits you better. There is no online payment on this website.

6. Weather

We will not sail if the sea is unsafe — your safety and ours comes before any booking. If the weather is against us, you get a full refund or we reschedule to another day, your choice. We'll usually message you the night before if the morning looks bad, so you're never left waiting at the dock for nothing.

7. Cancellations and changes

Plans change, and a polite heads-up goes a long way. If you need to cancel or move your day, message the captain as early as you can. We are reasonable about it, especially outside the peak weeks — the more notice you give, the easier it is for both of us.

8. On the water — your responsibilities

While the boat is in your hands, please look after it and everyone on board:

  • Follow the dock briefing and keep to the areas and limits we agree.
  • Make sure life jackets are available to everyone, and used where they should be.
  • No reckless driving, no overloading, and no taking the helm under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Keep clear of swimmers, swim zones, and other boats, and respect the coast and the wildlife.
  • Return the boat at the agreed time and in the condition you took it.

9. Damage and liability

Take the boat out in good faith and bring it back in good order and there is nothing to worry about — normal wear is on us. If a boat is damaged through misuse, or lost equipment isn't returned, you may be responsible for the cost of putting it right.

Boating carries inherent risks, and you take part at your own risk within the bounds of the law. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Albania, where the boats are based and the hire takes place.
